Description

Delicious and healthy dog treats made with peanut butter, strawberries, and bananas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1⅓ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for rolling)
  • ½ cup quick oats
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter (IMPORTANT that it is xylitol-free)
  • ½ cup strawberries (56 strawberries, finely diced)
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 tablespoon flour (for work surface)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, egg, peanut butter, diced strawberries, and mashed banana.
  3. Mix until everything is fully incorporated and a dough forms, using a Danish dough whisk or a sturdy spoon. If needed, mix with clean hands to incorporate any dry flour.
  4. If the dough feels sticky, refrigerate it for 20-30 minutes to make rolling easier (optional).
  5. Lightly flour a work surface with 1 tablespoon flour. Place the dough on top and sprinkle another 1 tablespoon flour over the dough.
  6. Roll the dough to ½-inch thickness.
  7. Cut shapes using a cookie cutter, dipping the cutter in flour if the dough sticks.
  8. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching.
  9. Bake for 25-28 minutes, or until the treats are firm and lightly golden on the bottom.
  10. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Store treats in an airtight container.
  • The dough can be refrigerated if not used immediately.
