Description

Delightful smoked salmon roll-ups bursting with flavor and freshness, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (e.g., romaine or butter lettuce)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of horseradish cream for extra kick

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped dill, capers, lemon juice, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
  2. Take a large cutting board or a clean surface to work with. Lay out the lettuce leaves flat.
  3. Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture on each lettuce leaf. Spread it evenly across the leaf, leaving some edges clear.
  4. Lay the thin cucumber slices over the cream cheese mixture on each leaf. Make sure to cover it well to add a refreshing crunch.
  5. Place a few slices of smoked salmon on top of the cucumber layer. You can overlap the slices to ensure good coverage.
  6. Starting from one end, carefully roll up the lettuce leaf tightly. Keep the filling inside as you roll.
  7. Optionally, you can use a toothpick to secure the end of the roll if needed.
  8. Place the roll-ups in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set. This will help the flavors meld together beautifully.
  9. Once chilled, use a sharp knife to slice the roll-ups into bite-sized pieces. Arrange them on a platter.

Notes

  • These roll-ups can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for a quick snack.
