Description

Delicious brownie-cookie hybrid loaded with chocolate chips and crushed Oreos.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 ½ cups cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring that each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Oreo cookies, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Spoon the brownie mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Spoon the cookie dough on top, ensuring it covers the brownie layer as much as possible.
  8. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the two mixtures lightly for a marbled effect.
  9. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  10. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the brookies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
