Description

A deliciously creamy and sweet baked dish made with sweet potatoes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 lbs), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Layer the sliced sweet potatoes evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, brown sugar, salt, and pepper; pour over the sweet potatoes.
  4. Place small pats of butter on top of the final layer.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil for the last 15 minutes to caramelize.
  6. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
