Description

This baked halibut recipe features a delicious ginger soy marinade that enhances the flavors of the fish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 halibut fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, ginger, honey, lemon juice, and garlic until combined.
  3. Place the halibut fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the halibut from the marinade and place it in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While baking, simmer the reserved marinade in a small saucepan until slightly thickened to use as a drizzle.
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with reduced marinade and topped with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate the fish longer than 30 minutes if time allows.
  • Adjust the ingredients in the marinade to taste, especially the honey for sweetness.
