Description

A festive and colorful layered dessert perfect for Christmas gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz) cherry gelatin
  • 1 package (3 oz) lime gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water (divided)
  • 1 cup cold water (divided)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer – Start by dissolving the cherry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until the powder completely dissolves. Add ½ cup cold water and mix well.
  2. Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish. Place it in the refrigerator and let it set for about 1 hour, or until firm.
  3. Make the Creamy Middle Layer – In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. Fold in the whipped topping gently.
  4. Spread this creamy mixture carefully over the chilled red gelatin layer. Return the dish to the refrigerator for another 30–45 minutes so the layer firms up.
  5. Prepare the Green Layer – Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then add ½ cup cold water.
  6. Let the mixture cool slightly before pouring. Slowly pour it over the cream layer so it doesn’t disturb the layers beneath.
  7. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2–3 hours, or until the entire Christmas Jello Dessert is fully set.
  8. Slice and Serve – Once chilled, cut into neat squares. The layers will appear bright and festive—perfect for a Christmas dessert table.
