Description
A festive and colorful layered dessert perfect for Christmas gatherings!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (3 oz) cherry gelatin
- 1 package (3 oz) lime gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water (divided)
- 1 cup cold water (divided)
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Red Layer – Start by dissolving the cherry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until the powder completely dissolves. Add ½ cup cold water and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish. Place it in the refrigerator and let it set for about 1 hour, or until firm.
- Make the Creamy Middle Layer – In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. Fold in the whipped topping gently.
- Spread this creamy mixture carefully over the chilled red gelatin layer. Return the dish to the refrigerator for another 30–45 minutes so the layer firms up.
- Prepare the Green Layer – Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then add ½ cup cold water.
- Let the mixture cool slightly before pouring. Slowly pour it over the cream layer so it doesn’t disturb the layers beneath.
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2–3 hours, or until the entire Christmas Jello Dessert is fully set.
- Slice and Serve – Once chilled, cut into neat squares. The layers will appear bright and festive—perfect for a Christmas dessert table.
