Description

This warm buttermilk syrup is perfect for drizzling over pancakes or waffles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a medium sauce pan, combine butter, sugar, and buttermilk and bring to a boil.
  2. Once it’s at a complete boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
  3. Take off heat and whisk in baking soda and vanilla.
  4. It will foam up during the boiling, and especially when other ingredients are added.
  5. Serve with your favorite pancakes or waffles. Best served warm.

  • This syrup can be made while pancakes or waffles are cooking to serve it warm.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
